ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION. The Voting Advocates of Brown CountY (VABC) will hold a training session for online voter registration (OVR) on Thursday, July 20, at 6:00 p.m. at the Brovoting_people.jpgwn County Central Library, Think Tank C on the second floor.

VABC is using materials developed by the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin to provide clearer information than had been developed by the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC). With enough volunteers trained in online voter education we hope to provide registration assistance to the area high schools this fall as well as have a presence at public events.

Brown County Central Library Auditorium TURBOCHARGE PROGRAM. The community is cordially invited by the League of Women Voters of Greater Green Bay to attend a special informational event about a creative initiative with the goal of college readiness for all students in Green Bay Schools. Turbocharge with College Credit is a collaboration between the Green Bay Area Public Schools. Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The evening's program will be presented by the leaders of the cooperating educational institutions: Green Bay Schools Superintendent Michelle Langenfeld; NWTC President Jeff Rafn; and UW-GB President Gary Miller.

The goal of Turbocharge is preparing all Green Bay Public Schools students for post-secondary school education (apprenticeship, 2 or 4 year college, the military, etc.,) through earning college credits, a credential, or a degree upon high school graduation. The speakers will provide information on the benefits of the program for students as well as the economic effect on the Greater Green Bay community. There will be discussion on how parents, educators, employers, and community members can play important roles in success for all students.

Parents of students of all ages, the business community, community leaders, organizations benefiting families, and all who look to a strong community future are encouraged to attend.
